Sydney Maritime Services provide engineered and designed gangways, ramps, single residential pontoons, multi berth residential pontoons, rowing pontoon and associated components for waterfront structures. We can purpose design any pontoon configuration with specialist services, including naval architects and structural engineers for any waterfront condition. Our pontoon construction is based on polyethylene impregnated fibre glass sheeting this material is classification approved for ship construction by DMV, Lloyds and ABS three of the worlds most recognised authorities. The sheets are manufactured from high impact and stress crack resistant polyethylene coated in multiple layers of fibreglass. The material is much stronger than conventional ply fibre glass construction methods and is not susceptible to dry or wet rot. They are suitable for fresh and saltwater marine environments, along with harsh environmental conditions. We have fitted our ramp and pontoon systems on the harbour in the most extreme areas were others have fail time after time ours are still going strong. Ramps are built to suit conditions we recommend steel framed with a number of decking alternatives to suit customer’s requirements.
